I love May’s Magazine. This is one of the best things Owensboro has going for it. I gave one to my sister in Louisville and she says it’s nicer than anything they have. So thank you guys for your hard work, I am proud to say that this magazine is from Owensboro.

Things are getting better and better. I think this is a great magazine, Owensboro needs something like this. Keep it up. The new website looks great.

I have a question and I am only trying to understand the TWO article….If Mike Philbin was such an asset to TWO, why are they broke, failed to purchase Goldie’s, and have yet to send out a season brochure? Seems to me he was the death of the place. I don’t know the guy but from what I understand no one but Vent magazine thinks he was an asset. Great magazine by the way.

I am intimately involved with TWO, and someone brought attention to me all of the nonsense that was being posted on Vent’s comments section.
TWO is not broke. It’s a public non-profit organization, and you can request to see their financial statements.
It’s obvious that several people in here have an axe to grind, and I do hope that Vent’s editors and journalists will practice a little bit of integrity to investigate these accusations to dispel them, or simply do what they should do: call these haters out for proof of their accusations.
I would encourage ANYONE who has questions about the operations of the organization, our finances, who attends meetings and who doesn’t, to call 683-5333 and ask questions.
It’s unfortunate that some of those that are providing such negative and perhaps slanderous comments are those that have been estranged from the Theatre for very, very good reasons.

There’s a typo in the December issue on pg twelve (Art, Hair, and Downtown). The painting on the top left should be credited as “Albin, Diane; from Wild Horses series, oil on canvas, 36in*48in”.

I would like to say something to Oboroartist that commented back in August about Mike Filbin (not Philbin). I worked with Mike for a very long time. I have to defend him for the comments you made. TWO’s problems were never anything that Mike did. TWO has had a poorly constructed board of directors for some time. The problems TWO “HAS” purely lies on the shoulders of the board. They were for the most part bullied by a board president for two years. That president made working for the theatre a miserable experience. If you are reading this and feel guilty…you know who you are. Now, for the comment from twovolunteer in September of this year…I would think anyone with intimate knowledge of an organization would know what phone number to give to the public for information regarding the status of the theatre. The CORRECT number for the information is 270-683-5003, the number given is the BOX OFFICE number. I think it is self-centered to think that anyone has an axe to grind with the theatre.
TWO is a fine organization that I was proud to be part of, I wish them all the best going into the future. I miss my TWO family and hope that the Board will wise up soon to the ones that have only their own agenda in mind for the progress of the theatre.
I’m proud of all of you that work so hard to make the theatre a success, and not those who just want to use the theatre’s money to do something they can’t personally afford to do themselves.
Good luck, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!!
Kind Regards,
K. Newton
